DEFINITION OF ONE DAY

One day, you will lock your door but you will not be the one that will open it.
One day, you will wash your best clothes and you will not be able to wear it.
One day, your best food will be prepared and you will be unable to eat it.
One day, you will eat and drink what you will never excrete.
One day, your curriculum vitae will get an expiry.
One day, the person that seems to love you most will never dare to move closer to you.
One day, you will think of what you can never accomplish.
One day, you will be regarded as “that thing.”
One day, you will be isolated in a place called “grave.”
One day, that thing you love most will come your way but you will not be able to give any attention to it.

One day, you will hold your breath and forget to release it.
One day, you will become a defendant before GOD.
One day, housefly or termite will come your way and you will be unable to chase it.
One day, you will receive a call that can never be declined.
One day, your name will be called, but no one will answer.
One day, the assets you cherished most will be taken by another person.
One day, your deed on earth will be presented like a Compact Disc (CD).
One day, a title will be added to your name “Late.”
One day, The Great Allocator will allocate you to an appropriate place.
One day that your beautiful skin will turn to its original nature-sand.
One day, your entire body will cease operation.
One day, you will be given an infinite apartment, either heaven or hell.
“In summary, take life easy and remember that “life is just an episode, but it can determine your eternity."

JUST DROPS!!!

Recently, when I was going to bed after using my bathroom, I started hearing a sound of drops of water from the tap in slow successions, but since it was dropping into an empty bucket, I decided to let it be. But, alas! When I woke up the next morning, around 5 am, the bucket was almost full! I was surprised that just drops even in such slow successions could produce that much. I couldn’t help it, “Just drops?!” I questioned rhetorically.
But the following night, I made sure that the tap in my bathroom was locked completely and I checked the bucket and saw that it was empty, though wet, then I went to sleep.
I guess you already know what I saw the next morning, the bucket was not wet as I had left it, but it was now dry! Then I realized the importance of a drop and how much difference it can make in all ramifications of one’s life compared to a dry tap.
Imagine letting the drops be for a year, I would be scooping with drums at the end of the year.
So, how about that drop of saving?
How about a drop of reading useful books today and every day?
How about that drop of prayer today and every day?
How about a drop of worship today and every day?
How about a drop of a step towards your God-given dream today and every day?
How about a drop of giving into your heavenly account?
What virtue and discipline will you start today in little drops?
Never neglect the importance of a drop, for when the harvest time comes, you would have made a BIG difference.

SUPER FALCONS VICTORY: Commendation or Condemnation?

I was totally flabbergasted and disgruntled with the statement of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Solomon Dalung, when he said he didn’t expect the Nigeria national women's football team, nicknamed the Super Falcons to win the continental trophy for a record of eight (8) times?
Champions, be it local or international should be celebrated. It’s so unfortunate that the Super Falcons arrived Nigeria thinking their efforts at the just concluded tournament will be appreciated but Mr. Solomon Dalung on receiving them, made a demoralizing and painful statement. Participating in a tournament is not east let to talk of winning the trophy. For crying out loud, we understand that our beloved country is going through a tough phase but these lads went out there against all odds and triumphed. They don’t deserve to be treated the way they were treated. Many African nations are praying to win the trophy at least just once, while over here in Nigeria, those who sweated and played with passion are treated as ‘spectators’ after being victorious.

The Super Falcons deserve commendation, it’s true that vast majority of Nigerians congratulated them, but that was mere verbal compliment when compared to the payment of their bonuses. Nigeria is in recession but it’s of paramount importance that the welfare of the players and coaches should be of top importance in the disbursement of available fund.

I believe the Minister should apologize to these gallant and vibrant patriotic athletes, who gave their all and won the trophy. Their demands must be met. The Nigeria Football Federation should pay all unpaid allowances, the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF) should also ensure that they appeal to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay the team all outstanding allowances to the Super Falcons.

I feel that the of Minister of Youth Sports Mr. Solomon Dalung should be condemned for saying that adequate preparation was not made to offset the players’ entitlements because he did not expect them to win the AWCON Cup.

Now that the Super Falcons have won the trophy, they should be commended and not condemned, the coaching crew are not left out.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Its Effects on a Child.

He cringed when he was told his role in a drama that will be performed in his school. His countenance should have been bright and full of excitement, since the school seldom carryout the aforementioned activity.
Bryan, happens to come from a family were domestic violence is at its peak. When he was told his role (as an angry father) in the upcoming drama, he shouted, “NO! I’m not going to act that part,” he went further to give his reasons for saying that, he said at home, his father always beats his mother at every little provocation. His teacher was stunned not just at his comments but when other pupils were randomly talking about how their parents fought at home.

A home where domestic violence is the order of the day, will in no time affect a child negatively. Bryan felt so bad when he was told he was to act as an angry father who will be quarrelling with his wife and always making sure he is not happy with anything she does. Truth be told, what he sees at home is a fraction of the role he was supposed to play. After so many persuasion that his role was just for the drama, his teacher forthwith changed his role, the gloominess suddenly disappeared from his face, he was excited and felt so happy that his role has been changed.

The negative effects of domestic violence on a child, cannot be exaggerated. A home should be a place where children are taught the differences between nurture and torture. A home is where children are shown and given the nitty-gritties of a peaceful home.
As we browse through the internet, read through the dailies, etc., the rate at which domestic violence has risen is far beyond one could have ever imagined. What flummoxes me the most is, these set of couples who are perpetrators of domestic violence are not strangers, they agreed to get married, why the domestic violence? Most times I ponder and wonder, why domestic violence is on the increase in our society.

It is detrimental for a child to be exposed to domestic violence at a very young age, the psychological trauma, the mental effects, inferiority complex, early exposure to other forms of violence are just few out of the numerous negative effects domestic violence will have on a child. Children need to be shown the path of love, the garden of joy, the field of hope, but it’s unfortunate that the opposite is what some of these children have been exposed to.
Parents should as much as possible say NO to domestic violence. Of a truth these parents are not above mistakes, no one is perfect, in fact they both noticed their imperfections and differences before they tied the knot. When there is love, there is forgiveness, when there is love, there is peace, when there is love, there is tolerance. A child who is shown the path of peace in the home will be pleased.

MMM:  Momentary Madness to Many?

Chai! “I don die o, which kind bad market be this, money wey I don plan to use for Christmas, na hin dis MMM people talk say dem wan upgrade dia system,” those were the words of Davidson, an MMM participant who recently decided to invest in the controversial Ponzi scheme, was disgruntled when he heard the latest development. Many other participants like Davidson, are in shock following the heart breaking news of not being able to access the site.

“On the 13th of December, MMM announced the freezing of all members' accounts due to systems overload and the negative attention brought on by the Government and mass media, leading to wide spread panic in the Nation and even attempted suicides. On the 14th of December, LASEMA (Lagos State Emergency Management Agency) of Lagos State  pleaded with Lagosian to dial their emergency number if they spot anyone trying to commit suicide. LASEMA took this action, because of the number of suicides MMM caused in Russia” (Excerpt from Wikipedia)

Before the breaking news, there was a clear warning on MMM’s webpage for those who wanted to participate, the warning was BOLD enough, it read, "there are no guarantees and promises! Neither explicit nor implicit, there are neither investments nor business, participants help each other, sending each other money directly without intermediaries. That’s all, there is nothing more. There are no securities transactions, no relationship with the professional participants of the securities market; you do not acquire any securities…there are no rules…In principle, the only rule is, no rule at all, even if you follow all the instructions, you may still lose or if you win you might not be paid. Without any reasons or explanations. In general, you can lose all your money, always remember this, and participate only with spare money or do not participate at all.”

Indeed millions of Nigerians participated in the Ponzi scheme, many achieved a lot, others gave thousands and millions hoping to reap massively during the festive period but were dumbfounded when they couldn’t log into the site (MMM).

A mechanism such as crisis management was implemented immediately to control the damage that might follow. A guider who chose to remain anonymous, said, “with a pause mode, there's no mavro growth; but with a freeze mode, your mavro still grows…” It’s crystal clear that many people don’t even understand what pause mode or freeze mode is all about. Of a truth, Nigeria is going through a difficult phase (recession)Another difference is that with pause mode, your mavro starts afresh at the time of lifting and you lose all your bonuses: referral bonus, leader bonus, guider bonus, testimonial bonus etc. But with freeze mode, you continue from Another difference is that with pause mode, your mavro starts afresh at the time of lifting and you lose all your bonuses: referral bonus, leader bonus, guider bonus, testimonial bonus etc. But with freeze mode, you continue from where your mavro growth stops at the time of unfreezing - not at the time of freezing. It works exactly like your blue mavro that keeps growing even when is blue, your registration bonus is an example.Another difference is that with pause mode, your mavro starts afresh at the time of lifting and you lose all your bonuses: referral bonus, leader bonus, guider bonus, testimonial bonus etc. But with freeze mode, you continue from where your mavro growth stops at the time of unfreezing - not at the time of freezing. It works exactly like your blue mavro that keeps growing even when is blue, your registration bonus is an example., but it won’t be forever, looking at how the poor masses are suffering, some can’t afford three square meal a day, others have lost their jobs, the list is unending, these reasons and lots more made Nigerians to participate in the scheme, they turned deaf ears despite CBN warnings.

14th January, 2017 has been fixed for the Ponzi scheme to be back on the internet, but my question is, what if it does not happen? One need not to be told that to be forewarned is to be forearmed…the warning was there, “…you can lose all your money, always remember this, and participate only with spare money or do not participate at all.” I believe vast majority of the participants counted the cost before making up their minds to join. Let participants pray that MMM does not cause Momentary Madness to Many!

Blood Type A – Tend to be cooperative, sensitive, clever, passionate and smart. Often bottling up anxiety in order to get along with others, they may hold in their emotions until they explode. Many are tense, impatient and unable to sleep well. While they are capable of leadership positions, they may not take them because the stress is not good for their tightly wired systems. In Japan many “A”’s are in research. They have roles in discovering more about and refining science, economics, manufacturing, etc. Their research on microflora and other areas of medicine is some of the best and most meticulous in the world. They are perfectionists to say the least. Blood type A’s tend to have more sensitive constitutions. Too much stress weakens their immunity more quickly than other blood types. Low stomach acid is common among blood type A’s even from birth, so special care should be taken when eating animal proteins

Blood Type B – Blood type B individuals tend to be balanced: thoughtful like A’s and yet ambitious like O’s. They are empathetic, easily understanding others’ points of view, yet often hesitating to challenge or confront. Chameleon-like and flexible, they make good friends.

Blood Type AB – Tend to be very charming and popular. They don’t sweat the small stuff and can be seen as spiritual and even at times a bit “flaky”. Only about 2 – 5% of the population are blood type AB. There is never a dull moment in a AB’s life, so if you find one for a friend, consider yourself lucky! You’ll enjoy some exciting times together!

Like blood type A’s, AB’s react to stress poorly. They are stronger and more active than type A’s, but need to pay attention to stress levels so that they don’t compromise their immunity.

Sometimes it is difficult to be an AB. AB’s don’t like to fit in anyone else’s “boxes”. If they feel too confined, they’ll break out of that box and do things their own way. When it comes to food choices and AB must discover when they are more B-like or A-like. For example, dairy foods like milk kefir can be excellent for them or not good at all.

Blood Type O – Tend to be loners or leaders and are intuitive, focused, self-reliant and daring. They handle stress better than other blood types and have strong immune systems, a well-developed physique and a physically active nature. Blood type O’s tend to have sluggish blood flow and feel better with vigorous exercise for about an hour each day.

So what’s your blood type? Do you think it’s true?

Plummeting of Containers: For How Long?

Tears more than rain drops keep dropping from my eyes, each time I watch the video clip of the tragedy that befell late Monica Onokah. According to the reports, it was learnt that she was involved in a fatal accident which happened at Mile 2 bus stop by Festac town in Lagos. A container truck fell and crushed her legs in the process as she was about boarding a bike, she later gave up the ghost few minutes later due to uncontrolled bleeding. It’s so debilitating that such a beautiful, hardworking lady, was crushed and sent to early grave as a result of a container truck that plummeted on her.

It saddens me that her case was not the first, lives have been lost due to the carelessness and recklessness of these container truck drivers, whom I believe could be under the influence of toxic substance while driving or probably not taking time to ensure that their containers are properly tied to their truck using a chain and grab hook, before plying the road. We’ve read and witnessed several others who have lost their lives as a result of the incessant falling of containers.

For how long are we going to keep quiet and fold our hands? Victims of these ugly scenario may not be a member of our family, they may not be a friend but let me state here that, they have family members, these late victims could be bread winners, they could be shouldering so many responsibilities, they could be playing key roles that are not just within the confinement of their families but in the society at large…how long will this unforeseen cataclysm continue?

I can recall vividly that directives were given by the former governor of Lagos state (Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN), that container truck drivers should ply the road at a stipulated time, but as it is now, it shows that such directives are not obeyed let to talk of implementation. Again, I asked myself, could it be that the various government authorities don’t listen to news or could it be an “I don’t care attitude?” Well, I am not in the position to judge, but whatever may be the case, I feel it’s high time these menace is mitigated. Bearing in mind that the risk these containers possess is high. I feel setting up a Monitoring and Control Agency for container drivers will go a long way to reduce the death rate or accidents on the road. Failure of compliance by these drivers, should result to payment of fine or more stringent punishments.

Life is short, there is no point making someone’s life shorter due to laxity on the part of these container truck drivers. Inasmuch as we cherish our lives, we should bear in mind that no one knows who the next person will be, it’s about time we speak out, watching that lady die in excruciating pains is unbearable. May the soul of the departed rest in peace.

If there is any time to speak and act, then the time in now...Enough is enough!
